Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapists work from a client or family centred perspective and work with you to develop a plan to improve, maintain or restore your function and participate in activities that are meaningful to you. Interventions may include: counselling and education; skills training; referral to community resources; and obtaining adaptive aids or specialized equipment.

Occupational Therapist and Founder

Deb Chmelauskas graduated from University of British Columbia with a B.Sc. and then went on to complete her Occupational Therapy degree at Queen’s University. She has been practicing occupational therapy for over 17 years. She has had additional training in cognitive rehabilitation and has obtained Dementia Care Specialist certifications. Deb has worked many areas of eldercare including acute care, clinic-based care, community health, assisted living, extended care and private practice. Along with her specialization in cognitive health for older adults she has extensive knowledge in the physical conditions and illnesses that are often associated with aging. Deb is registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia and is a member of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists.
